Cuddled on a blanket inside a kennel at Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, a sweet dog named Gigi popped her head up and locked eyes with anyone passing by. Gigi hoped someone might notice her and take her home. She’d arrived at the shelter with all of her siblings — a raucous bunch of puppies. But now, the kennel was quiet. Everyone had been adopted. Everyone except for her.

“Gigi is the last left of her litter,” MLAR wrote in a Facebook post.

Gigi’s situation caught MLAR staff by surprise, as they all adored her.
“[She’s] your typical happy-go-lucky puppy,” a representative from MLAR told The Dodo. “Full of all the cuteness and puppy snuggles!”
Gigi’s friends at the shelter knew that there was nothing wrong with her. She just happened to be in a tough situation and was experiencing some bad luck.
“Sometimes, in a litter, one pup just doesn’t get picked right away — not because they aren’t just as loving, playful or deserving!” the representative said.
Shelter staff knew that eventually the right person would see how special Gigi was. And that’s exactly what happened.

“Last week, a lovely adopter came in specifically for her,” the representative said. “[W]e were so excited that she finally found her happily-ever-after!”
Finally, Gigi relaxed in the loving arms of her forever person. Her wait had been well worth it.

“We think Gigi was just waiting for the right person, the one who would see her for the incredible, unique and perfect puppy she is,” the representative said. “And in the end, that’s exactly what she got!”
